Thursday I rode north on the Pacific Coast Highway ("PCH" as the locals call it). I rode through Carlsbad, up to Oceanside. The ride north from Encinitas is much flatter than the ride south towards Torrey Pines & La Jolla. I was thankful for the relatively flat ride as my legs were pretty tired from yesterday's effort to keep up with Greg.
The 101 (Pacific Coast Highway) runs right along the beach, which can be pretty dangerous for someone like me who gets easily distracted watching the waves and surfers.
This was by far the house with the best view in Carlsbad. If I lived here I would have coctails on the patio every evening and watch the sunset over the ocean. I hope whomever lives here takes advantage of that incredible view.
I had dinner with Trina at Pizza Port in Solana Beach. Pizza Port brews their own beer. I tried a beer called the Carlsbad Cream Ale. After dinner, Trina and I walked down to the beach just in time to see the sunset.
