Back on Track...Almost
My blog took a bit of a hiatus...okay, I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging. But this week I'll be back up and running full speed....stay tuned for updates on pictures and stories. In the meantime, let me give a brief rundown of the last 7 months. 7 months, really? Wow, didn't realize it had been that long. Well, here are some highlights from those 7 months:
December - blizzard + blizzard + 6 weeks with snowfall = one very unhappy Kathryn. Denver got way too much snow this winter for my liking. Almost ruined the Christmas plans with the folks and put a real damper on the winter training...I settled for many hours of yoga, lifting, and riding the trainer.
January - traveled to Phoenix with Gwen to run my first ever 1/2 marathon. Gwen is a former collegiate uber-runner who sucked me into her "run a marathon a year" plan...well, I wussed out and opted for the 1/2 marathon. I won't say pounding my knees on pavement for 13 miles for 'fun', but Gwen's always fun to travel with and we had a great time despite the fact that neither one of us could walk properly for 3 days afterwards.
February - race season begins with the unofficial first race of the season....Valley of the Sun in Phoenix. My last race as a USCF Cat 4 ended pretty well with a 4th place finish in the RR. I love those hills, although the TT and I still need some time to get to love each other properly.
March - road camp with a new team in Moab. Great training. Great teammates. Exhausted after 4 days of hard riding. Could tell it was going to be a good season. Enough said.
April - more racing, working, training. Start of the weekly Cherry Creek Time Trial series. Got a good whipping from my teammates! But made some progress and nearly passed out in the last TT...
May....got a taste of The Dream....living with pro cyclists for a few days and traveling to races. Best part of all...Chris.
That's all you get for now. More about May's adventures later this week...complete with pictures!
