When I grow up...

When I grow up I want to be a super star cross racer like the pros who swarmed down on Boulder this weekend for some super sweet UCI races. 1/2 road race, 1/2 mtb race, and 100% thrills. Getting to see the men's and women's national champ racing right here in Colorado was a special treat. Not to mention a bit daunting to see them beating up on the local talent who beat up on me on a regular basis during road season.

Todd Well's pre-race ritual includes a kiss from his lady. TW should have asked for an extra good luck kiss because he went backwards off the start line and ended up in 8th.

Before the start William Wallace treated the pro men to a "they shall never take our freedom" pep speech.

K-bomb checks out the competition before the start.

30 seconds 'til the gun goes off...This is about as close as the rest of the boys got to Trebon. He shot out of the starting gate, leading from the first lap, and rode like this for the rest of the race...
...solo.

These two boys spent the majority of the race looking at Trebon's backside...although mostly from a great distance.

RT is one tall man. I think he won simply because his 2x as long legs gave him an advantage hopping over the barriers and running up the hills. Props to TW for double bunny hopping 2 uphill barriers on every lap!!

Chris Horner, branching out after his great Tour ride, is riding too fast for the camera and looks like a blur.

The end result. Trebon was a full 1:20 up on 2nd place. Wow!

On the women's side, Katie Compton decimated the field for a 2nd day in a row beating Georgia Gould by over a minute.
