What happened to Fall?

Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring....right? This year in Colorado it seems to have gone straight from Summer to Winter, skipping right over Fall. This was the scene in Frisco, Colorado on Friday night.

Frisco is only 70 miles from Denver, and they got 2 feet of snow over the weekend! I had signed up for an adventure race in Frisco scheduled for Saturday morning. (I signed up and paid long before I knew it was going to be 20-30 degrees with 2 feet of snow on the ground!). Having already paid, I reluctantly trudged up to Frisco on Friday night to get ready for the 8am start on Sunday. The race was scheduled to consist of 3 legs: canoeing, mountain biking, and trail running. At check-in, I learned the promotor had axed the mountain bike leg due to the snow and ice covering the trails. Fair enough, but that meant the race consisted of canoeing (definitely not my forte) and a 7-mile trail run (much of it through a foot of snow). The race was pretty cold, but amazingly all the teams showed up with smiles on their faces and laughing about the weather. All I have to say is running in snow is hard! My legs are not happy with me today, and they tell me so every time I try to use my quad muscles! You'd be amazed at how many times during the day you use your quads....standing up, sitting down, walking, going up and down stairs. I need a wheelchair. Or a really good massage.

Two feet of snow in Frisco? WOW! Ryan is going to lose his mind. Love the cute cat. Hope all is well. Thanks a TON for taping Grey's. The Chinese woman who picked us up at the airport in Beijing told us she loves Desperate Housewives and Lost. "I love NBC" she said! I told her she was missing out. TTFN
