3..2...1...Liftoff

So this is it, the last night in the great U.S. of A. The bikes are packed and the clothes are all folded neatly to the brim in my suitcase using the dad's "roll, don't fold" method. The big bird in the sky leaves Friday night at 7:39 p.m. Then the next 4 weeks I'll be in kangaroo land without a care in the world, other than Spring weather which may be a bit of a shock to the system after 2 solid months of 90 degree days, not to mention recovering from the 24-hour, 3-leg flight to Melbourne and adjusting to the 16-hour time difference. But I have the last 2 Harry Potter books packed in my carry-on to keep me entertained on the flight and plenty of time to recover from the jet lag. So in fewer than 48 hours it's happy days when I see Chris for the first time since June. To be young and in love is a pretty damn good feeling.

And I'm not coming back until I've seen a kangaroo and a wallaby, and yes Mom, a real live platypus, too.

Catch y'all from Down Under. kg
